Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation

Protect. Advocate. Legislate.

The Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation is excited to hold our 16th annual Open Your Heart gala on March 10, 2019 at Lucas Park Grille.  The theme is "Woofstock", coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the iconic music festival "Woodstock". The evening is open to all our loyal supporters and will include great food, cocktails, a variety of fun activities, and exciting silent and live auctions.  It promises to be a GROOVY event!  (Formal and groovy attire are both cool!)

Open Your Heart  represents a significant source of funding for our legislative work every year. Thanks to the generosity of those who attend this fun event (and those who cannot attend but contribute in other ways, be that by donating auction items, sponsorships, or simply by donation-in-lieu-of-ticket-purchase) their support helps make it possible for the Alliance to continue our vital work with state legislators and public officials on behalf of the animals. Since 1990, we’ve accomplished legislative successes governing puppy mills, cockfighting, pet overpopulation, impounded animals, exotic animals, and animal abuse and neglect. We are especially proud of our advocacy efforts against puppy mills resulting in the closure of over 1,200 puppy mills in our state.  The work is endless - but together, we are making a difference - YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to sustain our mission of protecting, defending, and enacting humane legislation for our animals.  If you have reached this page, it's because you too are passionate about animals and the treatment they receive at human hands.  And you understand that to effect lasting change for all creatures, the issues need to be tackled at their root source.

We hope you'll join us at our premier fundraiser, which is a great time to re-connect with old friends, make new ones, catch up with fellow animal welfare advocates, bid on awesome prizes, enjoy delicious food and learn about the state of Missouri's animal laws and what's going down in 2019.
