2019 Humane Day at the Capitol

Sponsored by the Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation, Humane Day at the Capitol is an opportunity to present ourselves as a large and united group of people who care about the humane treatment of Missouri's animals, and we expect Missouri leadership to reflect our collective values as responsible custodians.  This year, Humane Day took place on Tuesday, April 9th and was well represented by animal welfare organizations from all parts of Missouri who set up displays in the 3rd floor Rotunda  of the Capitol Building.  In addition to animal welfare organizations, numerous individual animal welfare advocates took the time to travel to Jefferson City to visit with our various organizations and more importantly, meet with their legislators to talk about some proposed bills. This is always time well spent and we are grateful, as are the animals.

We'll post next year's Humane Day date and if you are an individual looking to support the humane treatment of animals, we can provide you with contact information of your state legislators as well as background information on a given issue. This will enable you to make an appointment and meet personally with your legislator to discuss animal legislation (or, make a call or email at any time throughout the Session). It's really about putting a name to a face, and letting your legislators know that you as their constituent, hold them accountable for their actions and for their votes. We would love to help you meet your legislator on Humane Day 2020, so stay tuned!
