The Alliance is currently working to increase our supporter base throughout the state. We are the only statewide organization working in Jefferson City to enact and protect Missouri’s animal welfare laws. We need individuals to become educated about the issues and involved in the legislative process.
Here are some ways you can help:
□ Share Alliance information with your friends, family and co-workers. Sign up for our monthly e-news and email alerts and share them, join our Facebook page and share our posts, and follow us on Twitter.
□ Volunteer to help the Alliance at community events. This is a great way for us to reach others that are concerned about animal welfare but may not have heard about the Alliance and its work to enact laws to protect animals.
□ Let us know about community events in your area in which we can participate by providing an informational table. Locally, we participate in Earth Day, Bark in the Park, Hope for the Animals Day, Greentree Festival, APA Canine Carnival, and St. Louis Pet Expo. In addition, we participate in numerous community events in Kansas City, Springfield and Columbia.
□ Plan to attend Humane Day at the Capitol hosted by the Alliance. Bring a group of individuals with you to this event and/or set up an info booth if you are part of an animal welfare group. The event will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015.
□ Host an informational session or social event in your home or place of business. Many people understand the need for good animal welfare laws; however, they don’t know how to effectively help to pass these laws. We are happy to make presentations to groups of individuals who want to get involved.
□ Help the Alliance raise funds. This can be done through small gatherings or fundraising events. Or volunteer on a fundraising committee! The Alliance operates solely on individual donations. Because we are a nonprofit, lobbying organization, donations are not tax deductible.
