February, 2012

The Alliance held its annual Advocacy Day on Wednesday, January 25 in Jefferson City. Attendees had an opportunity to meet with Bob Baker, Alliance Executive Director, and members of the Alliance's Board of Directors.

Alliance supporters were able to meet with their legislators and thank them for the passage of the Canine Cruelty Prevention Act as well as ask them to uphold the provisions of this legislation. Other topics that were discussed with supporters and legislators were the disposition of dogs used for dogfighting and fees assessed on shelters and rescues.

If you were unable to attend Advocacy Day, please contact your legislators about these issues today and stay tuned for additional updates. Please email any questions to mail@maal.org

A Message from Rosie!
Face of the Alliance 2012

Dear Alliance Friends,
Thank you for electing me the Face of the Alliance 2012. I know the year ahead will be a busy one for the Alliance as we continue our work to end abuse and neglect in Missouri's puppy mills.
As I kick off my year of representing the Alliance, I will be a part of the Mardi Growl celebration in Kansas City on February 17. Since bands and auctions aren't my cup of tea, I will be a part of the celebration via video and will kick off the Puppy Mill Survivor Parade. I hope you will join me.
If you have rescued a dog from a puppy mill, you will want to be a part of this celebration. My furry friends don't have to attend in person, but they may if they choose. We will also pay video tribute to those that cannot be there that night.
Please join me in celebrating the dogs that have survived puppy mills and have gone on to find loving forever homes. To find out more, click here.

 Sincerely,

   Rosie
